THE FRINGE SOCIETY

Founded in 1951, the Fringe Society has matured from a small organisation to become a large-scale operation, serving an annual influx of 500 acts sourced from national theatre groups to student troupes.

Despite this, the Fringe has retained the original open policy which ensures a unvetted range of performers, from the inspired to the diabolical.

Many newer acts rely on self-publicity, performing highlights on the streets or handing out flyers to the busy crowds.
