Bull's Close

BULL'S CLOSE
This close takes its name from wrighter and burgess Robert Bull, who owned property here at the turn of the eighteenth century.

The close was also previously recorded as Ford's Row, Lamont's Land, Dr. Drummond's Close and May Drummond's Close.

It is thought that May Drummond is the inspiration for the 'Preaching Quakeress' celebrated in the poetry of Pope and Spence.

Bull's Close leads to Holyrood Road.
