NEW BARRACKS These barracks built in 1796-9 replaced the outdated soldiers' quarters in the Great Hall.
The new barracks provides room for an infantry battalion of 600 men. It is not accessible to visitors but still serves a variety of military purposes. Opposite the New Barracks in the Drill Hall (1900) is the regimental museum of the Royal Scots.
